@powertechnical Safety isn’t the issue. Properly regulated nuclear energy can be safe, clean , and relatively reliable. However history has shown it is almost always ridiculously expensive.

@Diponty No. All the available data from our knowledge from the beginning of the nuclear power industry shows beyond doubt it rarely provides cheap electricity.

@Diponty Again what subsidies? Do you mean the $110 million grant given to the coal industry in NSW last year to fix their railway infrastructure. Is that the kind of subsidy you mean?

@Diponty Geez you got me there, last time I looked wind turbines weren’t laid down in sedimentary rock 300 million years ago. I only wish there was such a thing as a wind turbine mine. I mean what a ridiculous argument. Energy producing companies pay tax the same as any other company does or doesn’t. Woodside Petroleum paid no company tax last year.

@Diponty AGL which is an energy provider in NSW and runs several wind turbine farms paid $424 million in company tax last year.
