  2. It’s actually quite sensible. Firstly the absolute priority is to get a sub in the water to replace our current fleet. This can’t be done building our own. A British sub takes 10 years from keel to commissioning. So we buy Second hand US boats as a stop gap measure while we build our own. There is no plan to run two separate classes permanently, it is temporary fix.

  3.  Druid of Scosglen  Yes I think so to, and the benefits to the country in manufacturing and technology advancement. Let alone the increase in levels of knowledge of engineering and science. Just a great win for the country
