@Prognosis__ A recession is a recession and there is absolutely no indication whatsoever that government spending is the reason the economy has slowed. The economy has slowed because demand has dropped off as interest rates have risen in an attempt to reduce inflation. There in no indication that government spending or wages has caused inflation. Many economists believe price gouging and excessive profits by businesses sparked the increase in inflation. Who are you going to blame if we don’t go into recession?

@truthandlife4101 Factually incorrect. The economy recovered quickly after the recession in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2020, and has maintained growth ever since. The federal government contributes little to the housing market, housing is a state government responsibility. A buoyant housing market creates significant wealth for Australians.

@davidbrayshaw3529 Changing the parameters by which you measure a recession simply to suit your own political bias achieves what? It is illogical nonsense. A recession is two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. This is the universal measure.
