  4. The federal government provides the following support to tobacco users 1. Plain packaging and health warnings on tobacco products 2. Advertising bans. 3. Constant review of legislation 4. Contributions to the WHO convention to control tobacco. 5. Educational programs 6. Taxes on tobacco 7. Penalties for illegal growing or smuggling of tobacco 8. Limits on duty free tobacco So as you can see there is a range of initiatives designed to reduce smoking in the community which from the latest data I can find costs the healthcare system in Australia $137 billion. The government takes in about $15 billion in tobacco excise, so smokers are doing fine on my taxes supporting their healthcare.

This is the definition of an anecdotal fallacy and renders your whole comment nonsensical rubbish. Even the tobacco Institute itself admits smokers account for 1.32 times higher hospitalisations than non smokers. Then with absolutely no idea yourself you ask others to confirm you bias.

I never suggested or said smokers were the predominant cause of cost to the healthcare system. Your reply now contains two fallacious arguments. Provide a independent source for your claim.

Dad and I were both atheists so I don’t see us meeting anytime soon but as you say you never know do you. We clearly are never going to come even close to agreeing on anything but I certainly retract anything I said that may have offended you personally.
