Tell you what Greg, you prove any truth to your religion and I give it some consideration.
1
@PJRayment while not understanding what a god is I can only assume it would know what evidence would be required. I have no view of and made no claim. I do live in reality.
1
@KylonFox There are something like over 6000 recognised gods in human history, so how i am supposed to know which one Greg is talking about and what of any particular characteristics it has?
1
@Spyrotechnician You would have to prove the bible to be true. It is currently full of errors and contradictions. As a piece of historical literature it is very important, but as a guide to truth it is completely useless.
1
@KylonFox That’s a fair comment. Exactly. As nobody has ever presented any proof of a god it is extremely unlikely Greg could either.
1
@KylonFox Yeah nah, most of that makes no sense whatsoever.
1
@PJRayment So you accept you can’t provide any evidence. That’s not surprising as nobody ever has. Pew research center conducts worldwide surveys into religious belief. There are thousands of recognised religions. An exact list of properties is required, even within Christianity there are thousands of sects.
1
@PJRayment Once again i can only assume a god would know what evidence to present and what form it would take. It could then relay that information to you or to me. It hasn't.
1
@PJRayment Reality is Reality, is yours different?
1
@di_ibzy This is fairly accurate. Now if that family of Gawds that are living in the back corner of my yard would stop making all that pixie dust and throwing it about, then some people wouldn’t be getting their knickers in a twist because they believe something on faith. I’m perfectly happy to let them carry on with their silliness, it provides hours of endless entertainment.
1
No but I would expect an all powerful all knowing god as illogical as those concepts are would know exactly what evidence is required to prove their existence. They haven’t which means they certainly can’t be all knowing or powerful enough to show me a sign.
1
@PJRayment Yeah, nah, just a bunch of nothing wrapped around a shifting the burden of proof fallacy. Nice try.
1
@PJRayment Nah, reality is reality, that fact we are communicating means we share exactly the same reality. It may not be reality but it’s the one we share.
1
@PJRayment I understand you believe in your good and dismiss all others and any variations of. So do I.
1
@PJRayment Same here, I don’t believe in a god as there is no evidence, see we are on the same page in reality. I made no claim of a god and continuing to attempt to shift the burden of proof because you yourself can’t provide any evidence of a god, is all the evidence I need. All you do is continue to attempt to shift the burden of proof. Which is just fallacious nonsense. I asked Greg and he couldn’t, you can’t either.

Garbage! The SCOTUS merely determined that for 1st amendment rights and protections the concept of “the lack of belief in a god” ie Atheism can be considered equivalent to a religion for legal purposes.
1
@CatsJP Just be aware Phil is a presuppositionlist Christian fundamentalist. He can be endlessly entertaining to engage with.
1
@rickfromhove3324 Are you suggesting ChatGPT is an authority on Christian theology?
1
@rickfromhove3324 The bible certainly isn't a source of truth, but it is a terrific read.
1
@rickfromhove3324 It's just a series of separate texts written over a period of approximately 1500 years that describes the history of the Hebrew people and then the beginnings of the christian religion. It is neither historically accurate or inerrant, but it is a hell of read.
1
@rickfromhove3324 There isn’t one. Science is the best means to gain knowledge, but has its limitations. Why do you even require or need a truth for all Homo sapiens?
1
@rickfromhove3324 Oh thats easy. Your born, you do stuff, and then you die.
1
@rickfromhove3324 You get born, you do stuff, and then you die. No meaning, why do you need meaning?
