No. Trump said he never considered attacking China and his senior Military advisor aware of this made sure the Chinese knew this as well. What is wrong here? He made sure Trumps intentions were made clear. How in anyway is this even a story. Fake news. Sad.
12
Actually MacArthur was very intelligent and graduated top of his class at West Point, I think he would of totally approved of someone who suggested you read a book.
5
General Milley was personally appointed by and is a personal friend of President Trump. In what possible world is he a Democrat?
4
Patton was a well educated man who graduated from General War collage and wrote many technical papers on armoured warfare, personally I think he would have got on with General Milley extremely well.
3
@marklaumond5241 Actually in fact the opposite is the case. President Trump ordered General Milley to deploy US Army to the streets of Washington and General Milley said no that is an illegal order. Trumps lawyers backed the General and Trump backed down.
3
Carlsons attack on General Milley is just straight out cowardice. Every comment by him on General Milley was a lie. This is just gutter journalism from a grub.
3
@ethicsfirst3388 All General Milley was calling for was for us and in particular his Army to be educated. Educated people can be fascists, you can't force soldiers to accept blind obedience anymore, those days are gone, but I believe the wider read you are the more educated you are, and the chance of you being reasonable is greater.
3
And you believe a political commentator with a history of plagiarism and paid comment over General Milley who is a decorated combat veteran. Read for yourself and see how many jobs Ben Domenech has had to resign from for plagiarism and then decide who is the high mark of failure.
3
@koori3085 He has a combat infantry badge, two distinguished service medals, three bronze stars, and a legion of merit. He fought in the battle of Sadr city. All Ben Domenech has is record of confirmed lies. You choose who is the failure.
3
@koori3085 So having proven General Milley's physical bravery, command, and leadership in combat I will now prove his moral courage on three seperate occasions. First when he defended the US military from an unsubstantiated claim by a congressman about CRT being taught. He stood up to that congressman and declared that he was wrong CRT is not being taught. Second he apologised publicly and declared he made a mistake walking beside the President to the church, and thirdly when President Trump ordered him to take charge and deploy US Army troops to the capital he refused as it was an illegal order, something that took real moral courage, we now know Trump backed down as the legal advice President got was that General Milley was right. The US couldn't be in safer hands.
3
@koori3085 No passion, no opinion. I provided common knowledge facts that anyone could find out, based around a sound logical argument You offer no evidence and no argument other than to throw out personal abuse at me, and all this based on comment from a known liar and plagiariser, Ben Domenech. If you can't answer sensiblely don't bother.
3
@stopthehatemedialoveeachot442 You completely missed the point. Just because you read a book it doesn't mean you agree with what it says it just means you might get an understanding of its concepts. Yes you do need a certain level of intellectual capacity to be able to read. I have read parts of Marx's work and understand it's flaws hence why I'm not a Marxist. There isn't one book on CRT there happens to be many, that doesn't make it right, but reading one of them may help to understand it's flaws or truths, how in any way is that a bad thing?
3
So Pompeo accuses Biden of blame shifting and then does exactly that about the Obama administration. The chutzpah.
3
@Deathklok13420 And you clearly have no understanding of how senior military leaders all around the world regularly communicate on a range of topics.
3
@quijybojanklebits8750 Apart from that Milley had no command authority he isn't in the CoC for launching nuclear weapons and lawfully is unable to do so.
3
@common_sense_supreme Just quickly have a read of Ben Domenech's work history and then decide for yourself who is being honest, and should you pay any attention to thing he said.
3
@larrywilliams8063 You are wrong in fact. The CIB can only be awarded to Colonel and below and only for active ground combat. The other of your points are fair except for the fact he has been awarded the Defence Distinguished Service medal twice the Army Distinguished Service three times, three bronze stars, and the legion of merit twice. Denigrating a soldiers Service to his country, just because you don't like his opinion on a subject seems fairly shallow to me.
3
I would say the twice awarded Infantry Combat badge, two Defence Distinguished Service Medals, three Army Distinguished service medals, three Bronze stars, and a legion of merit, not to mention the numerous combat tours pretty much renders your comment utter nonsense. To denigrate a man who has given 40 years service to his country because you don't like his opinion on one subject is what, using your words "absolutely sucks".
3
@robertrickett7816 Fair enough and I don't necessarily agree with him either, but his service to his country has been impeccable. We can disagree on stuff but still remain respectful of each other. Some of the comments by others on this page about General Milley have just been horrendous and as an ex soldier I have probably been a bit defensive. Thank you.
3
@yankee2666 Please provide the evidence for the claim that General Milley is corrupt.
2
@JCX-9 What you said doesn't even make sense. President Trump went against the advice given to him by the snakes pit and personally chose General Milley. Explain to me exactly how a General gets rich by sending soldiers to war. Answer the don't, only the President or congress can commit troops to war. Form a proper argument.
2
@angusdrey8930 President Trump appointed him. General Milley has three university degrees one of which is a masters from Princeton. He has been educated by the finest schools the US has. Are you sure about the cretin remark now? Now I'm not sure what that says about President Trump or the US education system, but you work it out.
2
Annual GDP growth in Bidens first year of office 5.6%. Four years under Trump 2.33, 3, 2.2, -3.5. In what reality are you living? Unemployment rate sits currently at 4.2% and is 2.5 points lower from November 2020. Again what planet are you on? Dow Jones increase in 2021 18.7%. By what measure are you going by? Your gut feeling or hard economic data? Yes inflation has been high at 7%, but wage growth for last year averaged out at approximately 10%. Do you see a pattern forming here?
2
This is just an unsubstantiated unproven slur with absolutely no evidence to support it.
2
@josephmoran3265 If you believe that then I can only assume you would hold the person who promoted him responsible. President Trump, yep that's right, Trump chose Milley personally against the recommendation of then SecDef and the JCOGS.
2
@josephmoran3265 Does that say more about Trumps ability to select subordinates or the deep states attempts to control him.
2
@carolsmith6253 Have you any real understanding of General Milley's career?
2
Why because he suggested reading a book. By the way where were you when General Milley was fighting side by side with his troops in Iraq?
2
@jett7499 On the ground with pistol in hand in the battle for Sadr City. So in effect you have chosen the words of Ben Domenech, a proven liar and plagiarist who has either resigned or been sacked from numerous newspapers over the actions of a great American who has spent 40 years defending the US with distinguished service cross and bronze stars as proof. To allege with absolutely no proof that he is a communist other than, he suggest you read a book is so narrow and shallow in thought it beggars belief.
2
@stopthehatemedialoveeachot442 Yep, in no shape or form would the morale of the US Army be harmed by reading a book. To read CRT is in no way to agree with it or disagree with it, merely to understand it.
2
@stopthehatemedialoveeachot442 A good educator teaches you how to think not what to think.
2
@stopthehatemedialoveeachot442 Pimple of a General! 6 combat tours, a infantry combat badge, two distinguished service crosses, three bronze stars, and a legion of merit. 40 years defending the US, chuck in three university degrees two of which are masters one of which is from Princeton. That is just an unsubstantiated slur. General Milley who fought with pistol in hand in the battle of Sadr city would know more about "fighting morale" in his little finger than you and I would ever know and I did 35 years in the Army.
2
@stopthehatemedialoveeachot442 General Milley was appointed by a Republican, President Trump who chose him personally over the recommendation of the then SecDef and CofJCS. Restating and then emphasising that he is an evil pimple, when the only evidence you have is that he recommended his soldiers read a book is a pretty shallow argument. It was Plato who said "Only the dead have seen the end of war." Did I enjoy war, that is a deeply personal question, I certainly enjoyed soldiering, and when on operations I was confident that I contributed to the defence of my country in a meaningful way. It is a bit like a doctor treating a patient you don't wish them to be sick, but you enjoy making them better.
2
@stopthehatemedialoveeachot442 And so ends any meaningful discussion with your distrust and anger. The SecDef and General Milley both clearly stated CRT is not taught in the US military only that a book is on a recommended but not compulsory reading list. All General Milley said was he wanted to understand what happened on Jan 6 and you have turned it into some wild conspiracy theory. As to the facts of the day let's wait till all the investigations are over. CRT is no more a left and right thing than the theory of gravity is.
2
@stopthehatemedialoveeachot442 I answered every question in detail with proof. You threw out there a completely unsubstantiated claim with nil evidence about a foreign country being responsible for Jan 6. When you realise you have no argument then be brave enough to admit it. I'm sure the military is full of generals who vote republican and some that vote Democrat are you seriously suggesting only Republican voting generals are good and democrat voting generals are bad? and you had the gall to call me disingenuous. Game set match.
2
For suggesting someone read a book?
2
@razor1uk610 Done. Thanks for keeping an eye on my lousy typing skills.
2
@furionmax7824 Some people have the memory of a goldfish. Was is treasonous when Trump launched a missile attack on a Syrian airbase and warned the Russians beforehand. How many seconds after hanging up do you think it took the Russians to warn the Syrians?
2
@quijybojanklebits8750 You are misrepresenting the conversation to imply Milley said the US would never attack. We have no idea what the content of the conversation was, you are merely guessing.
2
@quijybojanklebits8750 In no way shape or form is what Milley is alleged to have said or done is treasonous and I guarantee you he will never and I repeat never be charged with it. His oath is to the US constitution not your demagogue.
2
it’s called climate proxy, and just because you don’t understand it (which is an argument from ignorance and a logical fallacy) doesn’t mean it is a not real. Read up on climate science and educate yourself. Your comment is just embarrassing.
2
@defeqel6537 science has never claimed to be infallible, but I’m interested, what is?
2
@sagacious00004 What part of modern science is built on shaky foundations?
2
What more stupid and corrupt than Newt baby, impossible.
2
@jerryhouse6455 President Trump personally chose General Milley as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, how in any way shape or form is he an Obama man?
2
Trump signed the surrender document.
2
Why? Because he has been caught on numerous occasions lying and plagiarising and either resigned or been sacked from more newspapers than you can keep count. Funny person to have as hero. Me I'll pick the guy (General Milley) with three bronze stars two distinguished service crosses and legion of merit and with pistol in hand fought along side his troops in Iraq, but I'm sure you have some better insight into Ben Domenech than I have. All I see is moral coward.
1
Factually incorrect. Trump had ordered the drawdown of troops to the level that the 2500 troops left could barely defend themselves let only Bagram and/or Kabul airport. Have you even the remotest clue about military logistics or the tactics required to defend an airfield?
1
@MsJackrussell2 Factually incorrect. The US had received intelligence the Chinese were concerned Trump might launch a nuclear attack (this was obviously not true, unless you believe he was going to) and so General Milley who knew Trump had no such intentions did what any responsible person would do. First he got permission from the Secretary of Defence Mark Esper and then he contacted his Chinese counterpart. The phone call was recorded and listened to by numerous defence officials. I have no idea where you made your story up from (Instagram maybe) but there isn’t a shred of truth to your claims.
1
@javiergarcia-ue9wm Yeah that worked out real well for Cyber ninjas.
