General Milley was personally appointed by and is a personal friend of President Trump. In what possible world is he a Democrat?

@ethicsfirst3388 All General Milley was calling for was for us and in particular his Army to be educated. Educated people can be fascists, you can't force soldiers to accept blind obedience anymore, those days are gone, but I believe the wider read you are the more educated you are, and the chance of you being reasonable is greater.

@JCX-9 What you said doesn't even make sense. President Trump went against the advice given to him by the snakes pit and personally chose General Milley. Explain to me exactly how a General gets rich by sending soldiers to war. Answer the don't, only the President or congress can commit troops to war. Form a proper argument.
2
@josephmoran3265 If you believe that then I can only assume you would hold the person who promoted him responsible. President Trump, yep that's right, Trump chose Milley personally against the recommendation of then SecDef and the JCOGS.
2
@josephmoran3265 Does that say more about Trumps ability to select subordinates or the deep states attempts to control him.
2
@carolsmith6253 Have you any real understanding of General Milley's career?
2
Why, because he read a book? As I see it your arguing that being educated is unconstitutional. Do you know how narrow and shallow that argument comes across as? Real insurrection, a free and fair election? Your argument is so full of fallacious statements the whole thing is just an illogical rant.
1
@handynothandsome261 "Marxist propaganda" "true patriots" When I described your original comment as an illogical rant I assumed you might respond with a sound argument, but no you have doubled down. "Educate against it" what does that even mean? You don't seem to understand the meaning of education.
1
@dougwilcher608 General Milley was personally appointed Joint Chief by President Trump. So in actual fact if you think there is a problem then it was the Republicans who caused it.
1
So the three universitiy degrees two of which are masters, and the combat he saw in Iraq where he was on the ground with a pistol in his hand along side his troops not good enough for you. Three bronze stars. Distinguished service cross. Are you getting the picture. Not only is your comment just factually wrong, it is as if you have no understanding of the military at all.
1
@joelmedina7777 How in world would the Joint Chief benefit financially from his position unless you are accuseing him of some completely unproven or unknown corrupt activity. Just because it's in your imagination doesn't make it true. General Milley has spent 40 years defending the US and that includes in combat. Look in the mirror and decide who is in unAmerican.
1
@JCX-9 You made the claim, and clearly you are unable or too lazy to support it. I never said or suggested that US arms manufacturers don't profit by both US and foreign weapon sales, it is a significant contributor to the US economy of which I don't particularly have a problem. I said General and implied General Milley, so you created a strawman arguement that is fallacious, making your comment illogical.
1
M L And yet it was a Republican President who appointed General Milley.
1
@ethicsfirst3388 You raised Facism not me when you mentioned Nazism. I'm not a Democrat and have not defined or redefined the meaning of any word. You clearly have no understanding of modern warfare if you think it is just about the mission, far more important is to understand the commanders intent. Why are you so afraid of education? That's how you defeat any enemy you out smart them.
1
@cosmonaut9696 irrelevant, i didn't raise facism someone else did. Let them define it.
1
@ethicsfirst3388 He's wrong because he wants his officers and soldiers educated. Do you know how narrow and shallow that argument sounds.
1
@ethicsfirst3388 General Milley was appointed by a Republican president. You raised the Republican/ Democrat issue which I agree was totally irrelevant, and pointless, I merely responded so it was clear to you I was not a left leaning Democrat, but a conservative. You emphasis my point when you misunderstood my comment about mission and intent. General Milley's mission is to in broad terms defend the US but his commanders intent comes from his bosses the SecDef and the President, that the intent he has to understand. I am not changing the meaning of any words. Nice touch with the condescending tone though.
1
@kimromero3247 General Milley is one of the most widely respected Military leaders the US has produced. He was appointed by a Republican president in 2019 so he probably has a few years left in him. I suppose you have more respect for the marketing political party hack spin doctor in this article.
1
@kimromero3247 So the numerous combat tours he has done, the fighting he did in Iraq, the three Bronze stars, and 40 years defending the US from its enemies count for nothing, so you don't respect him because he wants his officers and soldiers to read a book. Do you know how narrow and shallow that sounds, but then I'm sure he isn't even remotely interested in your opinion.
1
@rickklein7792 So with no prove you just malign the reputation of a man who has given his entire to defend your freedom. Two Distinguished Service Crosses and three Bronze Stars and you malign him because he wants his soldiers to read a book, how narrow and shallow is that.
1
@raynshyn7160 General Milley a Deeply conservative soldier personally appointed by a Republican president a "woke shill"? or do you mean me a conservative 35 year ex soldier. Why because we read?
1
@rickklein7792 As a 35 year ex vet ex soldier I never meant to offend you or deny your right to an opinion that's what makes the US great. I just think General Milley has been unfairly criticised by some uninformed comments.
1
@kimromero3247 War is just dirty and ugly, I have a nephew who survived multiple bullet wounds, I have young soldiers with titanium legs, and friends who are now dead through suicide years after ending their tour. What have I learned from all that? I need to make sure I am as educated as I can be, so decisions I make will mitigate as best I can that suffering, that's not selling my soul, that's just trying to be the best I can, and that's all General Milley is trying to do.
1
@robertwhite7071 Yeah your right, after 40 years, numerous combat tours, two distinguished service crosses, three bronze stars his true colours are really on show.
1
@robertwhite7071 I just find it hard to believe you would be so dismissive of a man who has given his entire life defending the country, and why because he suggested people read a book and you disagree with his views on a certain subject. Seems pretty shallow to me.
1
How is reading a book not doing his job?
1
Why because he has proven in combat to be physically brave, in leadership to be morally brave, and has spent the time to educate himself. Yep he has no right to even call himself an American.
1
The casualty statistics tell a very different story.
1
General Milley was personally appointed by President Trump. If there was a failure there's your answer.
1
@555Trout Why because he's educated, physically brave in combat, and morally brave in command, yeah I can see all reasons to fire him. Not to mention the 40 years defending the US.
1
@555Trout He showed moral courage in apologising after the public walk with the President and in standing up for the military in the senate hearing. There are two examples, now you may not like them, but I'm not sure if you even understand what it takes to serve your country which General Milley has for 40 distinguished years. Is your thinking so narrow so shallow that you want to eliminate the Chairman of the Joint chiefs because he suggested soldiers read a book. Now that is a stupid argument.
1
@555Trout Why because he reads? In your imagination tens of millions, but you have absolutely no evidence of that assertion, and yes sometimes insubordination can be courageous. Why are you so afraid of education?
1
I dare anyone to read Steve Hilton's bio ( marketing and political spin doctor) to General Milley's ( 40 year combat veteran defending the US) and then decide if Hiltons commentary is anything more than an uneducated slanderous piece of gutter level rubbish.
1
General Milley did, as a one star and a pistol in his hand he fought along side his troops in Iraq. Get informed.
1
So the fact he fought in Iraq in close combat with a pistol in his hand not good enough for you!
