  2. This is probably a bad idea. This jail has been closed for YEARS. it has not been maintained, has no supplies or staff. Dallas county has no plan and its evident. The workers don't even have gloves or PPE!!!!

No they don't look belligerent at all at the start of the video. ..looks like the employee started it by probably talking smack or whatever....I'm not sure what prompted them to go behind the counter but even still....throwing boiling water on someone is a stretch especially if they didn't threaten u or swing on u first.

  6. Deep ellum has been dangerous for awhile....I used to visit the music venues down there but I'm too scared now, which is really sad bc there are alot of great places down there but I value my life more.

  13. Inmates have Tb and they don't even separate them, or tells the workers. Workers have close contact and don't find out until its too late. But thats the way dallas sheriff dept operates. They don't listen to employees and they think they know everything....the sheriff doesn't listen, the chiefs don't listen. Bet they hear us now. Sad that we can't solve problems internally and have to go to the media. This isn't about rank and do as I say. This is about PUBLIC HEALTH/PUBLIC SAFETY. DART officers get screened EVERYDAY. Why should the sheriff dept be any different. Jailers come into contact with upwards of 280 inmates per day and potentially 100 officers. Imagine how quick this could spread if ONE person has it. We also must do mamdatory overtime where we are then exposed to another 280 inmates and another shift of officers. Dallas county is scared to order the inmates to lock down for 23 hours for fear of "behavioral problems". NEWSFLASH: they already have behavioral problems. They are more concerned with the inmates being manageable that public health. Trash all the way around, but what else is new

  14. Apparently there was some exchange of words. I mean we don't know who was the aggressor or what happened beforehand. When I go thru a drive thru I don't argue with ppl or get in confrontations. Some ppl are just trouble no matter where they go. How many ppl do you know getting into arguments while picking up food? It just doesn't happen. You get ur food go home and eat. Rip to the young man but when ppl get on camera and cry and tell these stories they leave out ALOT of information. Ain't nobody just arguing with u randomly for no reason. Either they were doing something, said something, or had a history with these ppl or maybe an opposing group.

  23. I know he feels terrible. He tried to do the right thing but you just have to think twice before making those calls. I been there....I've heard neighbors fighting and make noise but I had to really think hard about making that call. I know how bad things can go. Praying for his peace of mind. You have to release it my brother....forgive yourself and stand up for her.

  45. Googled him and he had a Long rap sheet. The way he died was he was running from police, swallowed a baggie of drugs and didn't tell the jail staff. There was no way to know what a person ingested unless they say something. It would he great to tell the whole story instead of leaving key information out. This is not news and wfaa is wrong for presenting this story as if the jail did something wrong which is what y'all did by leaving out information. No one killed him...he killed himself. He has a drug habit and stole $360 worth of meat and ran. Don't discredit your good name reporting half narratives. This man record goes back to 1996....yes I'm a master at google searches.   46. I mean she was cute and everything....but I think she did dress a little sexy. Kinda looked like the Spanish language news anchors. But on the other hand I dont Think ppl should judge her for her body shape or anything like that. She was a cool person and I enjoyed her personality. I hear alot of ppl say they only tune in for her which I think is because of her looks and body shape, which is a little reductive to me. I remember watching wfaa as a kid with john mccaa, gloria compos and all the others. They were LONG time anchors they didnt bounce from job to job. I miss those memories. Its like you got to know them, it wasn't gimmicky or who was the "hottest" anchor. It was about the news and the community. I sure miss that kind of news

  48. If only u knew.....work inside of a jail or prison and see the gameplay inmates employ...its a rouse. Maybe 20% are serious or remorseful...the rest want lighter sentences and will most likely commit another crime
