Dallas is very carved up...and its still clearly evident. Just look at klyde warren park....they get millions of dollars in private donations to add to a already finished park whereas other city parks and rec centers get nothing to improve their facilities. Banks also go where the money is. Historically blk and Latino ppl are underbanked, don't trust banks, or do not put enough money in banks for banks to be interested. So some of it is cyclical and a lot of it is just about education.of course there are banks everywhere, but in southern dallas there are way more predatory lending places and check cashing that u hardly see in the northern sector. The city needs to limit predatory lending institutions in these areas and increase incentives for more banks to come.
