  1. Doctors and insurance don't make it easy and that's IF you even have insurance. I had to get a thyroid ultrasound....it was only by chance that the doctor checked my neck and recommended it. I have a naturally fat neck. I didn't think it was necessary when she said my neck was swollen...I have good insurance but hadn't reached my deductible yet so my part was 377 just for the ultrasound, not including the 4 other dr appts office costs and necessary biopsy to rule our cancer that will cost me approximately $1500. Add onto that eye appointments, new glasses that insurance only paid 78 dollars for I had to pay 350 for new glasses and glaucoma exam. Oh yeah I also had to pay taxes bc my job didn't take enough out of my paycheck and car repairs. Ppl cant afford these high surprise bills to detect cancer and heart issues. Most ppl in America find out the have a condition accidentally or after something happens. I think anyone of any age ought to be able to request scans, ultrasounds, xrays and cancer screenings. Not wait until something bad happens or until your 40. Ppl would actually be healthier if it health was more accessible. I'm 37....why do I have to wait until I'm 40 to get a colonoscopy or mammogram??? By then I could have a disease that's stage 3. Make it make sensw
