  1. Just googled on the latimes article. Here's a direct quote: Calderaro said Guardado, 18, was not a licensed security guard, nor was he wearing a uniform or any marked clothing. He said the handgun found at the scene was not registered. This explains some things...if its true that he wasnt licensed or wearing a uniform and did flash a gun I can see why the police interaction occurred. Im not blaming him for being shot. But he made some mistakes for sure in this case. If you aren't licensed to be an armed security guard, you cannot carry a weapon (in Texas prob california too), u aren't wearing a uniform....police don't know who u are or what you're doing. All he had to do was STOP....and CALMLY explain the situation. When u take off running with a gun you were previously flashing, of course the police are going to pursue you. A little common sense could have prevented all of this. The police need to come clean as well seems like they are being shady and tight lipped.

  5. If they knew he was hitting pl with a lock maybe they should have used another tactic besides going in with guns blazing, maybe a taser or less lethal option. It was reckless being that they know other ppl are in the store, and it also seems like every officer wanted to be first to shoot. So tragic, but other tactics could have been deployed instead of shooting with a rifle

  6. We don't know the circumstances....seems like she tried to leave him with a responsible party but regardless we have to put blame where it is due. The man babysitting killed althea boy not the dad. So lets have a little compassion for the grieving parents

  7. She couldn't see the forest for the trees....and she definitely didn't think it through. She should have just accepted the punishment and got on with her life....even if it's 5 years in jail do the time and go live ur life. She felt trapped and didn't see any other options. She mad a bad mistake and it didn't have to end that way. I would have said hey u caught me, she still would have plenty of money and commissary and enough to start over in life. Sad it ended that way. Corrections is a tough job and inmates do nothing but play games, she went too far but it really wasn't the end of the world

  13. Every mass shooting is tragic and terrible but this one really is tough to process. These were little babies, they had no defense and nothing to do with anything the gunman had going on. Why couldn't he just kill himself and spare the rest of society. My heart breaks for these families. 2 days left of school and this happens? And also how did he get in? Have u ever tried to pick a kid up from a school nowadays? It's like getting into the white house.

  21. There's a lot missing from this story and I'm a bit confused. 1. Was he a commissioned (armed) guard? Was he in uniform? 2. What lead up to the interaction with police in the first place? 3. Why would he flash a gun at police? 4 why if he was a legit security guard would he run? Security guards often have interactions with police to pass on information. 5 why did police totally destroy the camera system? It was ripped from the wires. Its like they were trying trying to destroy evidence rather than preserve it. This is a very strange story..mom not sure what happened but we need transparency from police. This makes no sense

  25. I just wanna know what they did being on the run for a week. Must have been hard to not get caught...did they just lay low? Did the eat steak and caviar everyday? Did they go to a flea bag motel? Or a 5 star hotel? Or did they camp out in the car? Like what happened and why did u do it?
