As a black woman I can safely say my race never got me any advantages....... trust me....not a job not a promotion an certainly not a raise....if anything I had to work harder just to be considered, heard, taken seriously and get the same respect as others...... ppl have no idea when they open their mouths and spew things they have no idea about. Yes it should be about merit......but if I have the merit I shouldn't be overlooked bc I'm black. They whole reason the system was put in place is bc ppl couldn't be trusted to JUST look at merit and often bring their biases with then in the boardroom and admissions office. It was meant to be an equalizer not a advantage. But whatever, racism will never go away. All I can say to minorities is just keep doing what we've always had to do. Work 2x as hard and be 2x as good to get your foot in the door and get half the respect. #Nothingnewunderthesun #sameoldgame
