  2. I’m tired of this “poverty causes crime” narrative. I’ve been flat broke plenty of times in my youth when I first moved out of my family home. I’d go a couple days at a time without eating, pretty often... I used to go ask all the sandwich/bagel shops for all the uneaten food they were going to toss out around closing time, and 99% of the time they would say no because it’s technically illegal. But every now and then I’d get a sandwich! Anyway, my point is I never resorted to vio lent crime. Not once.
