  1. Apologies only have value in a culture that also values grace and forgiveness. That is not our world anymore. Anyone who is in trouble for apologizing CAN turn it around. All they have to do is say “I apologize for apologizing. I thought you were offended/coming at this in good faith, but I learned that’s not true. This is over, go screw” or something to that effect.
