  1. Your videos and perspectives on homelessness give me hope. I never thought that I would find myself facing the same situation because I always made sure that I could be self-sufficient and have the ability to pay my bills/rent etc, with no one else's help. That was until April when my landlord decided to sell the apartment building where I have lived for the past 16 years. The building was sold to a couple who own a leasing company (and over 100 properties) and guess what happened? My rent was jacked up from $940/month to $1,800/month (without utilities). I've been "priced out" of my apartment. The thing is, I am not sure I want to find another apartment to live in, because I don't want to find myself in the same predicament again. I feel I am too old to positively embrace being homeless, since I am 61 years old. If I were younger, it would be much easier to persevere under these circumstances...
