  1. Astrium makes a lot more out of this event than it is. If you can look at the sky and recognize which star is brighter than it was last night you might recognize the event. The current brightness makes the star 'almost visible'. After the event it will be the same magnitude of thousands of other stars. Its interesting, and important to astronomers. But I doubt very many layman will ever see it.
