  1. I spent my career around trenches, excavations etc. I would NEVER allow a child in a sandpit more about a foot deep. Loose dirt, particularly sand is extremely dangerous. The injuries from even partial burial can be horrific, Google it if you din't believe me.

  2. Parents: If your kid digs in the beach, make sure the hole is 3 times as wide as it is deep. Never, no never, permit a child in a hole deeper than their waist. The injuries from burial in sand can be horrific, made worse by being so preventable.

  3.  @logicbehindbars  In the construction industry I was state certified to deal with worker safety. Ditch diggers have been killed by cave ins that only buried them to mid abdomen. Much worse has happened to folks who dug into sand. That's why I post on this subject. I can't imagine standing on a beach while people franticly dig up your child. Gives me chills.

  5. Not a word about the identity of the assailants or the victims. I wonder why? Is it because they don't want to talk about criminal illegal immigrants conducting their crimes from motercycles? Where else is this common? South and central America.
