  1. Germany and Russia were equally ruined by Ww1. Germany held on to capitalism until NAZIs put the country on a war footing. Russia went straight to strict authoritarian Communism. The resulting differences in quality of life could not be more stark. Ironically, it was the socialist economy planning that denied Germany the ability to win the war. The result is inevitable destruction of both socialist systems. And yet nazis and communists promote the nonsense even today.
