  1. Holy crap that's... rather low. Unless you have a very low power CPU (5-15W), I don't think that the electricity consumed was less than those $0.02

  2.  @ishashka  I was thinking of trying it out on my 4,5 yo laptop too. With 6700 HQ. Thing is, the laptop CPUs are actually a bit better on the efficiency than normal desktop CPUs. Sure, lower performance, but much less power draw too. In the end, after seeing what somebody computed in another comment here, and knowing that I don't have a new, efficient (7nm or 10nm) CPU, I realized that I better not waste time trying it. Bottomline, you might have the efficiency, but if you consume $4 of electricity and make $5 of Monero... why bother ? :)

  4. Thank you for the computation! If this is used by your desktop computer, I guess it's in the logic of "while I sleep or I'm away, I can put the computer to work!" In this case, the original cost of the CPU can be completely deducted. Still, you won't use it 24/24h, more like 1-8h/24h, in average. So you will get at most 1/3 of those $3.14 a day. Since not everybody has Threadripper, it's more like $0.1 to $2 at most. In theory it's still a profit, in practice it kind of doesn't worth the effort.
