  1. Windows itself might not ever get open source, but there's the very low chance that ReactOS takes off and actually provides a drop-in replacement, at least for Windows 95 to Windows 7. And given how much Microsoft has fumbled with idiotic searches, imposed telemetry, and other nonsense, they wouldn't even be that behind Windows 11 or whatever the next version after 11 will be named.
