You can use the CLI commands in scripting. So the need for them is real. The find command in particular, except for the most basic of cases, I doubt you can make a gui in which it would be easier to initeract with. You'll have to type just as much, but also have to use the mouse and jump from section to section. And it would look terrible. If you don't want to see the CLI, just use a distro like Linux Mint, I don't get the problem. It and a few others actually have that goal in mind, that no user should be forced to use the terminal. Quite whining about things that don't affect you.
