I'm the same, though I'm still very new to Wine. I had multiple times problems with both Lutris and even Steam when I did something wrong and launching some installer or game would endlessly create explorer.exe processes and if I wasn't fast on it, it will totally cripple my system when the RAM is out. I was so happy when I managed to make a fullscreen game (For the Glory) which cannot work windowed (it requires 16bit color) work in a virtual desktop so it thought it was fullscreen, but actually it wasn't. That way I also got back the ability to "Alt-tab" to the browser in the 2nd monitor to change the YouTube video. Without the virtual desktop, after switching out from the game and swithing back on to it, the game would perpetually be a black screen. Winetricks and protontricks are nice. I'll try to slowly learn the inns and outs of wine so I can rely less and less on extra frontends and helpers and such. I usually don't like extra programs to help me. It's nice for those that don't want to bother with the details, but usually in the long run, learning the core program is just better, you get to know exactly what and how it can be done. The helper programs usually are more limited and sometimes introduce extra bugs or sometimes even make things harder.
