  2. @Lucas - It's really not that simple as Ctrl+f, nor just sort. Clearly not rocket science either. Though if it was just Ctrl+f then it would make even MORE sense to hire someone, because you (or Linus) HAVE MUCH BETTER THINGS TO DO. It's like "You hired someone to clean the office?"

Check here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_10_series#Products 1080ti was launched almost 10 months later. And, you know research and discoveries happen. Sometimes you do get 30-35% in a short span. It's not the first time that would happen. Also not to mention that the better thing to bitch about would be that they released 1080ti 7 months later than Titan X and it performs about the same, while costing 700$ instead of 1200$

  5. About it's price: if it's truly just a case and you can insert any ATX motherboard & power supply on it, then you could easily use this for 10 years. The money you would spend on fans in these years could very well make up for it's price. Not to mention the energy savings and the pleasure of being quiet. Could anyone do the math ?

  6. @Tiger White - Please, don't say that X has better build quality than W, Y and Z combined. If that were really true W, Y, Z wouldn't have existed anymore. Albeit debateable, people are not THAT stupid. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop from 2007 too, and it still works quite as well. Though I can't really tell how much since I don't use it anymore, it's more like a backup in case my main laptop dies suddenly. However TWO friends bought the next inspiron series, from 2008 and it was shit. Both had non-trivial problems. So I guess that 2007 was a good year for them, while 2008 was a bad one. And I think this applies to all companies. They have an average build quality, but the REALLY GOOD ones are usually a series/model.

  7. @Lelouch Yagami and @TheTelePhyzz ever heard of servers ? Do you really thing that somebody (non-stupid) buying a 6900K would get it just for games ? Or casual browsing ? There's things that other mentioned like video editing and software development. Those easily use more than 16GB of RAM. And doing development you might need virtual machines. Anyway, all these are still just for a guy/gal and his/her desktop. Then there's servers. Have a non-trivial website, with mysql and elasticsearch on which you store 100k products and then find out that you need more than 64GB of RAM for optimal speed. That's just one of the extremely many types of server workload.

  8. @Adrian A: These CPUs are for servers aka for companies, not for individuals. I mean, few individuals have the money and especially the need for them. But if you have a moderately big website or application you might already have 2-10 servers. To jump from 10 cores to 16 or 18 cores could be Godsend in those situations. Not to mention that some software apps are licensed per node/computer they run. Another reason to have bigger, fewer servers. Părerea mea

  12. What is wrong with having a Yahoo Mail ? Sure it got the passwords leaked... twice ? But other than that it's an ok email to use... I think. At least it knows to group emails by conversations, while the Outlook I have to use at work does not (might be old or badly configured but I don't know and I don't care, since I can't do anything about it anyway). Still kinda weird to hear them talk about how creepy the Google marketing will be, but on the other hand say "at least she has a gmail now". So it can be creeped upon. On this... does anyone know if it's possible to have like a paid subscription to google for any/all of their services to be able to use them but NOT track what I do ? Because if they go that hard with that marketing I'm seriously thinking to switching to bing or duckduck go or just simply having a lot of bookmarks. Like seriously, we have too much ads already, could you not expand this cancer this much ? I know it gave me free stuff on the internet, but it really should have a limit. And options for not being involved in it.

  15. At 1:17, that guy really had to write "Intel" there... Then they went to tell that Kaby Lake is very efficient so they can go with less cooling (when there's so little difference between Kaby and Sky sheesh). Then, as it wasn't enough, they go to tell how fantastic is intel M.2. Nope, I can't take them seriously. Too much intel ass-licking while saying basically nothing. Though the 2 VR systems in one seem cool. Then, the second team, this guy at 2:47 "In 2017 I will be signing every single manual that leaves the company". Why ? Because you'll be selling so few of them, that you'll actually have time for this ? Can't take this guy for serious either. I'm sorry if I look as a jerk and picky but I actually felt like I'm looking at a comedy show more than anything else :))

  16. @PurePhoenix "if ID software can do it anyone can" - uhm, if the company who trailblazed the 3d games, and had some quite sick optimizations. mostly powered by one of the best programmers of all time can do a thing, surely any other company can do it, right ?? It's true that id Software now doesn't have John Carmack and Michael Abrash anymore, but John did got to work on Doom(2016)

  17. Fast paced, competitive shooter Linus: let's play at under 60 FPS no matter what GPU we have Why ? Just why ??? Why the flying f*&%# play Halo at 4K ? You even have a video that says 4K is dumb, and this is the perfect example. If you don't have at least 120 FPS, preferably 300+, don't up the resolution. Just what does 4K give, besides score-ruining performance crippling ? This is not Anno 1800, high FPS is 10 times more important than high resolution.
