  2. I'd say that a more effictive way would be to be involved into their discussions and push against stupid things. Though supporting the alternatives is not bad either.

  5. I'd say that it would be more effective (in general, not just here) to get involved a bit in their discussions and push back against stupid things. Just boycotting is not that effective, because it's rarely done at a big enough scale to work, they might still not learn anything aka, at worst the project will die instead of getting healed and depending on the topic/subject and how much you care, sometimes you actually have no alternative. Actively fighting back is the better long term solution.
