  1. There is one contender, if I'm not mistaken. Librem 5 is the brand. They have a phone that runs on Linux (instead of Android) and on which you can install most normal desktop/laptop Linux apps. The phone & the OS are still kind of in beta stage. For example the phone doesn't have cameras yet. And has quite old CPUs. The not-so-nice (yet) part is that the phone costs $800. And they have a version, which, if I'm not mistaken, is entirely made in US, by US companies. That one costs $2000. Yup, two thousand US dollars. So.... yeah... there's this one on the horizon, but it's not yet good enough for daily use and it's MUCH more expensive (especially given the phone specs)
