As someone who played the console version WOWS which doesn't have the carriers (Or fun police and jingles calls them) i can say it is some much more fun the PC version

The 25mm is well known as the worst AA gun of world war two but how effective was the 12.7 cm/40 Type 89 gun in comparison to its contemparies?

@lordredlead2336 See as a destroyer player the way to beat that is for the teams destoryers to hunt the enemy destoryers you will be amazed how many times enemy destroyers have paniced when i charge them down instread of running away. Or maybe they should add a bit more radar into the game to make it harder for destroyers. But because the destroyer captians want the big points they just hunt the battleships who are the ones moaning the most i find, adding carriers won't solve their woes it will just add to them.

@magisterrleth3129 Same for me i do the exact same thing and i find it just as fun but some people just want to one shot Battleships

@bloodrave9578 If your getting shot for one direction and planes coming from the other then how and where do you dodge?

@bloodrave9578 That kind of negates the point of being in a destroyer they want to be up front scouting taking points and attacking enemy destroyers if their stuck the cruisers and battleships they're usless might as well not be there

@bloodrave9578 I have seen some carriers do that this is true and those games do tend to be intresting at least, but a depressing number aren't those players, in fact in one extreme case i saw a carrier keep dropping his fighers consumable on himself dispite his whole team begging him for help claiming to be under constant attack and needing them. He wasn't under attack, he was the only one to survive and he took no damage and while he is an extreme example not everyone are these good CV captians. I wish they were believe me. But carriers are such a powerful force in a game that's more suited in gun lines, theirs a lot of issues with ship AA some and really powerful mechanics for carriers that need to be toned down like the planes not being shot down while on the way back to the carrier. I don't think carrier players are evil its just the tools they have are to strong. For example say non-carrier players are using muskets while carriers are using assault rifles thats the power gap, yes the muskets can still do damage but not as well as assault rifles and that the problem carriers as they play are very powerful and other ships classes were not give suitable counters by themsleves to survive against carriers, the other ships need a buff to AA or the carriers need to have some aspects changed or toned down.

@bloodrave9578 See this is probloatic as a good destroyer captian should be going and either takeing or contesting caps or going and hunting down enemy destoryers, they are the best for capturing after all with their speed and stealth and they are the natural counter to another destroyers. This means they are either being spotted in a gun fight or have been spotted because they got to close or whatever reason and the carrier can just keep them spotted for the team to shoot them while lending a hand to. Or they are basically sending a telegram to a carrier where to look, i'm sure you've seen a cap circle being capped went and looked and seen a destoryer in there, now yes they can use smoke but if you have torpedeo planes they can flush them out or drop a fighter squadron nearby to spot them when either smoke the clears or the destoryer moves on. So if i play like this i either have no choice but to give a carrier an idea where to look by capping or i've got pinged by another destroyer and the carrier can rush over and keep the spot going as no matter how fast a destroyer is a plane is faster. The looking at the minimap to avoid the planes works very well till you have to go to a place the carrier will look, usually the cap or near where you got pinged by another destroyer because your trying to hold or stop a cap being taken, also if i am in a gunfight in a destoryer the last thing i will be looking at is a minimap i'm either dodging shells or torps they will be taking up my attention to much, two destoryers fighting it out is a knife fight everytime (Unless the destoryers doing something very out the ordinary) and they tend to be very fast pace and attention absorbing you don't have the time to look at the map till your out and thats usually enough time for a decent carrier player to have got a squadron over there which can usually finish off the usually damaged destroyer if not got over there in the middle of the fight. This is where i would like better AA on destoryers esspecially in the Destoryer fights (As i'm likely damaged and can only take one maybe two good strike and i might have modjules damaged etc.) as it would give the destoryer a better chance, i'm not saying make it impossiable for a carrier to take out the destoryer just harder.
