  1. Pretty ridiculous to not include the most obvious reason for alien contact- they need a new home. Their planet is dying or will, or did.

  2. Natives weren't doing well before contact either. They would still be doing the same not well today. To what end? Besides, viruses would have eventually done the very same decimations.

  3. Space travel itself is extremely toxic. Zero gravity, cosmic rays, micro meteorites, etc. The entire universe is essentially mined with hazards. We are obviously supposed to stay right where we are.
