  1. We don't care about sending mammary glands and melanin to the moon or anywhere else in the solar system. We care about science. That means robotics in space, and a bunch of mostly white men running the programs safely from earth.

  2. Some truth in that. When Bush suggested going back to the moon nobody was interested, so Obama's NASA started chasing asteroids instead. Since... it appears Mars is such a heavy lift, that practicing a Mars base on the moon has made a lot of sense, especially now that the Chinese have big plans of their own. And, truth be told, we can't really do a 3 year round trip in space with lifeforms... period. Space exploration must be done robotically. That's all good anyway, and without the fear of death and harm to humans, as well as the insane price tag. Forget the homeless argument, it never persuades nor shames anyone to transfer funds like that.
