  1. Petraeus does not see the true nature of Future War. Military conflict, as territorial battles, is over. Manned assets in theater are targetable before they assemble and position. Statecraft is the future. Interdependent offshored economies guarantees this to be the case. Perhaps Cyber warfare and space asset duels could still take place, and be extremely disruptive to near peer adversaries.

  2. Wrong! Losing Crimea eliminates the entire purpose of the land bridge to Moldova, and eliminates the strategic Sevastopol naval port . Which nullifies the Putin regime. Game over.
