@Taskandpurpose It was you who passed-on the initial report as being "an air strike", along with showing F-35 B-roll.

Russia's rapid fall in status from military superpower so drastically lessens its geopolitical influence, that all discussions regarding their nationalistic aspirations are being viewed with the contempt only currently shared with North Korea. North Korea being Russia's former new best friend, before its newest best friend, the terrorist theocratic state of Iran. Russia has become a crippled, amoral, nuclear bouncy house of geopolitical propagandists.
3
Oh come-on! The nuclear problem is that Iran has decided that Israel should not exist.
3
This is not so much a 'fog of war' situation, as a total shocker, for why the 'Special Operation' isn't closer to being completed by now. We can't believe this has turned into a real contest, with an unclear outcome, that is dragging on long enough to place Putin and mother Russia in Jeopardy with economic sactions. It is just so unbelievably FUBAR.
2
At some point Ukraine has to take their ground back, rather than relying on Russia to give ground. We have no idea what that looks like, since there is an odd habituation for trench warfare. Waiting for Russia to punch itself out while trying to suck NATO into their fray has not worked either.
2
Armor is dead. Stop beating its drum. Nobody is going to occupy anybody. Just a lot of broken sh*t, by missiles and then what?
2
Good on China! Let the migrant hoards head their way.
2
It's a tough choice between this tracked Mini Cooper and the Middle East favorite, Toyota Pick Up.
2
US Citizen's do not care about Taiwan nearly as much as they care about cheap Chinese manufactured goods. The world needs China more than Taiwan.
2
How is 2015 "over 10 years ago" ?
2
There is nothing left as recognizable American Culture, People, Borders or Government. There simply is no US worthy of destroying other countries for.
2
Tanks.. zzZZzz Fish in a barrel for the modern battlefield.
2
Drones will hunt these HEL systems just as easily as anything else.
2
Armor is pathetically obsolete. All armor is drone baby food.
2
Of course artillery is obsolete. Frontline warfare is over. Ever since being lasted back into 1915 trench warfare stalemate. How much over does it get!?!
2
Business as usual tank chat during the war that obsoleted them is a story that needs maximum traction right tf now.
2
So Ridiculous! Drones can identify infantry for artillery teams. Waste of time.
2
The West and China are one nation under, The God of Manufacturing. The US Military Complex markets China Geopolitical Virus propaganda, in order to sell their Antivirus weaponry.
2
There is no reason why Taiwan should not move back home to China. And the US should not care either way. I'm not ducking and covering from Chinese nukes for the next 50 years.
2
US and European manufacturers are all allies with the Chinese. Huh? What the hell are Tubers going on about!?! Plus we don't care if Taiwan and China reunify.
2
Drones are making a mess out of all armor, both directly and indirectly. Deal with the drones first. It's a stalemate situation until then.
2
It was obvious 2 years ago that the M777 was a logistical dog with an 8 man crew.
2
Taiwan-China reunification negotiations have nothing in common with US defense interests. Overall S. China Sea navigation issues are a different story.
2
Most of the West's manufacturers are in bed with the Chinese. The absurdity of the US destroying it's main supplier of all things cheap is not worth the slightest consideration. Let's just assume that the Chinese are DOD contractors.
2
Maybe it seems unlikely to many, but the presence of drones makes everything on the battlefield vulnerable. Continuous anti-drone sweeps has to be standard operating procedure.
2
..."Strangely, it doesn't ask for a boost in production of tanks"... Has armor come back from the dead, as the easiest kill liability of the Russian invasion?
2
If only armor weren't already a battlefield liability. The American People demand low cost drones to replace manned fighter aircraft and all forward operating armor.
2
A dozen of these systems on the hunt nightly, for high value targets, will force mobile targets to recede further away. Then the long range missiles arrive in country. And then, the permanent position high value targets are on the nightly Todo list as well. Bye-bye Sevastopol and fancy Orck bridge. Next stop- Kaliningrad!
2
Total insanity! What happens to the US's offshored China manufacturing, and all of China's US bound exports? The US would crumble, like the obesity producing potato chips it lives on.
2
Already obsolete, like all armor.
2
The stupid Orcs believed Ukrainians would be content to disappear. Tanks make impressive crowd control, but are now entirely obsolete in the world of high precision, remotely acquire-and-fire systems. General Dynamics needs to look elsewhere for government revenue.
1
The excuse for invading Iraq was WMD, not Islamic extremism.
1
minus the, cheap.
1
Some version of that is on its way. But we will need to fight our own defense industry over the massive budget reduction that is made possible with these drone scenarios.
1
Taiwan itself must be the tip of the spear in its own defense. And, it would quickly pivot to peace negotiations. All the US bluster is irrelevant in that eventuality.
1
Wiki says 29 carriers worldwide in service.
1
With China being the primary manufacturer of most items in use in the US, the day the US defends Taiwan is the day everything stops being delivered to the US. Then what?
1
The Bakhmut standoff looks like a place where HIMARS has not turned the momentum around in favor of Ukraine. I like it as a resource black hole for Orcs, while Ukrainian progress continues towards Crimea.
1
Yep! And then there's the multi-version F-35 cost overrun nightmare.
1
Sure, we care about Chinese tanks...
1
A One China Policy says unification with Taiwan. Period! And, we just don't care.
1
@weirdo1060 Yes, but not because the US must ideologically have an independent Taiwan. Instead Taiwan is an effective proxy-buffer for offsetting China's dominance over it's neighbors, for achieving near total control of the sea lanes, resources, and mineral rights in the South China Sea.
1
Too bad there is virtually nothing left for tanks to do besides relatively safe mop-up operations.
1
Prepping to shoot it out with the Chinese Liberation Army is total insanity. Those guys are the workforce that our manufacturing industry executives left the US to employ in their offshore factories, in order to sell goods back to us here, in lower paying, no benefits, service jobs.
1
Without effective countermeasures against drones, armor is scrap metal.
1
An Italian vehicle? What could go wrong?!?
