  1. Writing a book on personal experience does not an expert make. I forget what neurotic issue ick/disgust responses are connected to, but it's worth looking into. Parents deserve respect for their guardian function and authority position. Punks, kids and peers do not deserve respect from each other until they prove themselves respectable for some significant accomplishment. Politeness and civility are what peers owe each other. Nothing more or less.
