  3. In, The Psychopath Next Door, sited here, the author has many less sensational examples that are sociopathic. That's how she gets to her 4% of the population, rather than the more tight definition, which gives 1%.

  4. That makes no sense. The absence of a conscience guarantees mistreatment on some level. Staying within the boundaries of the legal system does not make for doing good. Being economically productive in a system that requires it for survival is no real credit to the doer. Intention is huge. Lack of good intention is likewise huge.

  5.  @tuinov6286  We all hurt the ones we love at times. Loveless and conscienceless psychopaths may not intend to hurt the family hosts of their parasitic drives, if the host's wellbeing supports their own. But any resistance to continued support.. who knows. And who knows what might happen to any helpless creature, just out of boredom. How can a "normal" person not react negatively to highly aberrant behavior?
