@arcotroll8530 The Impaler had no other choice but to use a terror law to save his country and his nation, being caught between a civil war and the Ottoman invasion, under time pressure. He managed to do in 7-8 years what others didn't do in a life long reign. He also was a very courageous and skilled warrior till the end.

The elderly brother died early and his very young son became a king being controlled by the aristocracy, the boiars. This led to a civil war of extreme cruelty, quite rare by the Orthodox Christians. @onyxabier4502 For your big surprise I have nearly all of them in my family : Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants and self - declared agnostics. But I tell you what European Muslims are doing under my eyes : having nearly no relationship with their own mother and grandparents and till recently not letting them to see their own grandchildren and great grandchildren, because being more or less practicant Christians or secular. They are intolerant and punitive to their own mothers and grandparents because they are keeping the Christian tradition and yes, they are drinking a glass of wine or liquor. They are discriminating their own family for their wives ' families because of course they are righteous Muslims. Perhaps they could be extremist and intolerant Christians in the Middle Ages, but today they are Muslims. Not to mention the advantages they have over their colleagues, also social bankers, not discriminating anyone. You may keep them.

It wasn't only Vlad, but a number of princes, kings, rulers and aristocracy in the whole region for centuries. But the crusades went wrong because the western warriors were not adapted to the Ottoman warfare.

@skullsforerlikkhansthrone9306 In the case of the half Latins Venice blooded Sultans we may look at somebody very close to the possible distant ancestors of the Devils, who managed to escape to the furious purges of the Byzantine Empire.
