The Romanian anti-Semitism was so lava-heated that Romania did not send any national Jew to the German concentration camps. A well known thing in Israel.
It became lava-heated after the retake of the Moldovan territories occupied by the Soviets according to the Molotov - Ribentropp pact and the discovery of the mass graves of the Romanian population killed by the NKVD and Comintern, mainly Jewish. For those not knowing it, the Romanian Communist Party was mainly of "romanized" Jews, less Romanians.
The most butchered by the Iron Guard were the considered traitorous Romanian politicians, guilty for losing the Romanian national territories. I am sorry for anyone asking privileges in a country in a war of attrition, more than Romanian PM and politicians killed by the Iron Guard. This brought their end. But I understand more and more the false image of the West on the Eastern European far - right and extreme right. Especially the views and attitude of D. Eisenhower.
The Jewish Romanian community, mainly communists, who emigrated to Israel in the '70s, was around 400, 000 people, the biggest Jewish community before the emigration of the Russians, which says a lot of the holocaust there.

@MMerlyn91 Your answer is given by the personality and biography of Marshall Ion Antonescu. Marshall Ion Antonescu was a war criminal against the Romanians first of all. Which was normal at that time. He militarily repressed heavily the last revolt of the serfdom in 1907, the first Romanian Civil War in the modern time, long after the cultural conservatory political power and party have been defeated by the modern liberals (dominantly of conservatory origin), Christian - Democrats and later the Socialists also. The Romanian serfdom far away from the Russian serfdom, e. g. not allowing their sale as by the slaves, was still described as abusive exploitation of their mandatory work for the conservatory landlords. Even if some of the serfs commited terrible crimes and murders against the conservatory landlords and their managers this didn't justify the extent of the killing of unarmed peasants. Antonescu used the army (based on the yeomanry!) and put the heavy artillery and the Cannons on the villages. He always eliminated any ideological source of civil war by using the Cannons. Defending the Romanian democracy, sounds familiar? He had a high blood debt to the Romanians and he paid for it at an absolute level. He had a hard conservatory reactionary character, with an excellent French education, even not being from the aristocracy. Many European commanding officers had such a conservatory authoritarian character, which was the source of mutiny, even more visible at the clash with the Soviet system. His purpose was the rebuilding of the nation state integrity and keeping it by all means. And I mean by all means.
The progress couldn't be stopped and the WWI ended the serfdom in the most satisfactory way, being a factor of economic success of Romania in the interwar period. If any minority, the Jews also, believe that they are entitled at privileges over the national peasantry and the PM of a nation, they may pack their luggage and leave that country. Which in fact happened in Romania. The cultural successful national Jews migrated to the civilized West, like France. Where they have been deported and killed in the concentration camps. If they stayed in Romania they had a chance to survive the war.
Hero of the WWI, even defending the democratic Romania at the beginning and simply Romania till the end, he did not have a democratic personality but a dictatorial one. After the merging of the Moldovan territories to the motherland, Romania inherited the consequences of the Russian Tsarist occupation. The Russian Empire colonized the Moldovan territories with its minorities to reduce the Romanian majority. Romania took its Moldovan territories back with dis-loyal minorities which was unusual for Romania. Most ethnic minorities are loyal to the Romanian state, except for the regions infiltrated and influenced by foreign countries, which was the case of Moldova. The Moldovan minorities remained loyal to the Tsarist Empire, continuously rebelling against the "Romanian imperialism". On this ground it started a massive Soviet infiltration, aggravated by the Great Depression. As usual Antonescu and the Romanian Army drowned in blood every threat to the Romanian territorial integrity and Romanian system by using the Cannons against the dis-loyal and hostile minorities ' revolts, riots and disobedience. This was a major reason for Moldova to avoid the merge to Romania, after the fall of the Soviet Union.

@MMerlyn91 Today Moldova has "cleansed" itself because of the aftermath of the fall of the Soviet Union, which let them all impoverished and without any resources to rebuild their own country. The minorities like the Moldovans becoming economic migrants.
The biography of General Eisenhower for example shows that regular military men were not able to fight the new wars of infiltration, subversion, sabotage and propaganda. The Romanians used Transnistria to solve once for all the problems of the un-loyal minorities by deporting them there, outside of the Moldovan territories. They also moved there friendly and loyal minorities to counter the Soviet infiltration and influence.
The generation of Antonescu, practically the parents of the men fighting in the WWII, who fought together with him in WWI found themselves in life danger in the newly occupied Romanian lands and other territories which gave him an enormous authority. He was highly respected, very severe, anti - corruption, thus unpopular, having continuously contestation and conflicts with the others high ranking commanding officers.
To end my comment I can only wish to everyone to fight like him selfless and self - sacrificing for their homeland and die for it.
