And making sure that the Romanians will fight for him to keep the power as they would fight for their country.

  5.  @flyingbeast7902  yes, Romanians who supported the Hungarian revolt in '56 (especially students) got shot (again), landed in the political prisons of the gulag (again) or had had their professional life destroyed by the interdiction of studying in universities and achieving an university degree, being socially limited at low paid jobs.

  13. Romanian Germans told that it wasn't funny at all :some stupidly died because of the fuel restrictions. The Romanians were waiting in the cars in long lines, over night, for the fuel to be brought to the gas stations. They were using little gas heaters over cold nights while sleeping in the car and some died poisoned by gas heater.

  14. Well, for the general surprise there is a lot of individualism in the Eastern Europe. Even a bit too much now. Maybe this helped stopping communism.

  15. Seeing the history of the WWII, I would never underestimate the Czech and the Slovakians, as the other Central and Eastern Europeans, on long term. There are also other "graveyards of the Empires" too.
