  3.  @casianionescu3241  I was eating together with a group at an Eastern European restaurant. At the payment I gave a tip of €2 to the waiter. The Europeans around the table said :" So much! Why?" I said ask him how much is he earning. It is something I usually do. But I am doing the same thing in the West. If I am in a family restaurant I give a tip to the waitress I know she is a freshman (?) student to encourage her and to show her sympathy for her studying. If I am a regular client I also give tips being seen as familiar and friendly, but not as a stranger.

I am asking about this because myself as a foreigner in a foreign country, if asking for help from the locals, the nationals there and I receive help and hospitality from them, I am asking them before leaving how much do I owe them for helping me. Generally they are saying as much as I think and appreciate it. But you see others are obstinate to refuse it. It may be the old Christian obligation to feed the hungry people and mercifully help those in need in Christ's name for your soul in eternity. If you are talking about kindness as me not simply being robbed and killed somewhere, myself like others picking up the babushkas, I think we can assess the dangers of the people and environment.
