Although German expertise was integral to the Saturn V through the direction of Wernher von Braun and his colleagues that came to America via Operation Paperclip, NASA engineers in addition to a myriad of private contractors made the Saturn V possible.The lead contractors for construction of the rocket were Boeing, North American Aviation, Douglas Aircraft Company, Rocketdyne and IBM.
