No, that isn't how you define talent, but as I said, Rossi would not have won a title on the same bike. Ben Spies summed up the difference very well in saying when he followed Rossi, he could understand what he was doing, he couldn't do it himself. With Stoner, he couldn't understand what he was doing or how he was doing it, which is something that the many of his competitors at the time have echoed.
Rossi benefitted from ludicrous advantages throughout much of his career that simply were not availed to the rest of the field. He also engineered many rule changes and forced through many demands when things didn't go his way, that no other rider would have been able to influence.
