  1. As much as it saddens me stuff like this happens to this day, I'm happy to live in a world that cell phone video has made it so at least the vile racism some engage in is easily documented, and some measure of justice can be attained that way. Now if only that weren't still so necessary....

  4. Dwayne Johnson's politics in general seem to be really unclear, but when he does feel the need to make a clear, strong statement, he certainly picks the right one to make.

  5. I don't know if this is just a measure to beg the city council not to disband the MPD, but better late than never. I still think a mass firing should happen at some point, but I'm fine with getting all the pieces in place to usher in a new era first.

No one is saying "don't fix the justice system while we reform policing"; people are saying "hey, let's get cops to stop killing people (especially black people) right now, and let's start the years/decades long process of fixing the courts". It's not either/or... He's also ignoring how the police unions sabotaged any of the reforms he cited after the last round of high profile police murders. Reforms might have done something, had the police unions not actively shut them down. It's hilarious that he's saying "police reform won't work" and then he cites things people who want to reform the police are proposing. And anyone blind to the fact that we do have a lot of straight up white supremacists with badges running around (looking at you Bob Kroll) is just an out of touch egghead, to be polite.
