  2. making Lenin as bad as Hitler is gross misleading. Also, to make conclusion about communism and revolution based on one book not very documentary in character is something doubtful. I am surprised that a professor makes conclusion on a subject that is not his major.

  3. I lived half of myt life in the Soviet Union and after its collaps the other half in the west. I do not see big difference in the living level but I see a great difference in the level of stress and mental issues. The life in the west damands from a person more strength and stamina than in the old country. The stress of looking for a job and horror of losing it is the biggest problem. We did not have homeless people sleeping on streets, we did not haver a problem with kindergartens, they were acceble and cheap. Extracurricula activities were plenty and very accessible. I would not say there were no shortcomings-plenty. But overall, our lives were more relaxed, humane.

  4. hahahah ,and I hope, eventually, more people will understand ,not from the book by Solzhenitsin, what the real communism is. But it requires some effort : to read real sources- Hegel, Fierbach, Lenin and more.

  6.  @willnitschke  most probably, you don't know Russian history and why the Great Revolution happened. It was brewing tens of years. BTW, not only in Russia, but in whole Europe. Did you hear about Hungarian, German revolution. Also, Mexican? The working and peasants classes'situation was so horrible that people wanted to build more just society. Lenin and his party managed to build an industrial country out of the 80% peasant and illiterate. Is this not admirable?

  10. with all my respect towards Professor Petersen, who talks about " brutal tyrannical actions by Lenin and Stalin" based on lies by Solzhenitsin, used in the west solely as propaganda against communism, I would recommend to read the real source- written by Lenin and Stalin works- to have your own view about those historical personalities, not someone's.
