  1. Im Britsh, I have brain damage and long covid so I am on benefits. For us its £16k not $2k. But this is the reason all my savings go into little gold coins. Gold coins are counted as assets - cos rich people have assets and we dont want to trouble them now do we. You can have a £2 million house and still get benefits but not £17k.

  2. THIS IS LIKE THE LIE that people get more conservative as they get older - NOPE - never been true. Its just that wealthier people live longer you don't see many 85 year old coal miners or steel workers but you see lots of 85 year old lawyers and accountants
