I LIVE IN BULGARIA they like elections - its a national pastime, you get a holiday for each one. EDIT this is incorrect - they stop alcohol sales BUT being serious - this country runs better with NO government than the Uk under the Tories - 5% GDP growth this year, 4 new hospitals in my city alone, 2 new free universities, amazing public transport, public toilets are better than most UK 4* hotels. And its 33ºC today

I LIVE IN BULGARIA dont let the political situation fool you - things work VERY well here - I found a pot hole last week - reported it on the city app. 2 days later I got a message and a picture to show they had fixed it. Power is VERY devolved here - the national government only deal with truly national issues like defence and trade deals. My city is Burgas - look it up and tell me if it looks like a UK city

And its 33ºC today NOTHING has been done in the UK for 15 years

@BEkov-kd8cf I moved here 15 years ago - it was horses and carts on dirt roads. I cant believe how it has transformed. BUT the cost of food and such is very high compared to even 5 years ago. kashkaval is 17 to 30 leva / kg. Basic bread 2 leva. Yoghurt 1.70 leva

@darkoparko6685 - I have not travelled since before the pandemic - but I would not say its that different from Plovdiv, Valiko Tarnovo, Varna. Maybe it is and I have not noticed??

@todortodorov6056 "Shame that many Bulgarians do not see how much Bulgaria has benefited from being in the EU." AHHAHHAH tel that to the British LOL

@todortodorov6056 I live in a working-class part of Burgas in a panel block, and 8 years ago there were lots of anti-EU flags and banners and posters in windows and stickers on cars. NONE now. Brexit seems to have settled the issue for them

I found a pot hole last week - reported it on the city app. 2 days later I got a message and a picture to show they had fixed it. YEAH nothing gets done under PR.

@Hardcore_Remixer TBH - I dont know what I meant LOL. Im sick today. I had a thought in my head when I wrote it, but I dont know what it was. I think it was about the boarded up high streets in the UK??? IDK

@averagebohemian5791 I used to have a friend in Bagloevgrad, about 12 years ago - it was a bit run down at the time. I LOVE PLOVDIV - but it reminds me of Edinburgh - everything you want is at the top of a steep hill.

@СилвияИванова-з1р I was joking with you about the Sunday thing. But I got it mixed up - I'm sick today forgive me. Its not a holiday - its that they stop the sale of alcohol on election days dont they...!??!!? I knew there was something special about them. EDIT - its about the only thing you don't have a holiday for here, you get a holiday for having a name...!!! Britain should adopt that "Garry day" and "Steves day"

@dyawr you are a very weird person. Its not bragging. Its just a temperature. I have no control over it. I did not make it. It just the temperature, Im sorry you feel insecure about your temperature.
2
@dyawr PROBABLY the weirdest conversation I have ever had on Youtube comments. Just pull up the weather now in Burgas. Look up pictures of Burgas.
2
@inbb510 OH Im so pleased for you that life is perfect in the UK. Got to go, due on the beach.

@inbb510 All my family live in the UK - and if you live in Chipping Norton the UK is great. if you live in Doncaster the UK is a "uniquely impoverished mud hut in Europe" Outside the rich parts of the south, it IS the poorest place in Europe.
1
@inbb510 NO - no one mentioned Sofia - personally I don't LIKE Sofia. I only go there if I absolutely have to. Im talking about the North generally - but I am very pleased if Manchester and Liverpool are doing well. I come from Batly in West Yorkshire - I WANT THE UK TO DO WELL - ESPECIALLY THE NORTH. But lets be realistic - things are very grim in lots of the UK

@inbb510 My sister lives at Bainton in North East Yorkshire - the local council did a full survey of the road network in the area, they need to spend £1 BILLION on road repairs The roads have been patched and patched and patched for 50 years and the actual structure of the foundations is shot now, due to heavy lorries the rural road network was never meant for. This is the problem wiht the Uk - everything has been patched up for 50 years and it just cant be patched any longer.
1
@inbb510 Thats one thing Burgas does extremely well - public transport. 270,000 people and remarkably few cars - I dont have one. But when you see them building a modern road - a normal B road is 5 feet deep and a motorway is 12 feet deep. Most of Britain's rural roads were just cobbled streets or dirt roads tarmacked over in the 1940's or 50's Britain suffered greatly from industrialising 250 years ago - everything was built for a different era. Bulgaria went straight from basically no internet to fibre optic cos it didn't have a legacy telephone network.
