  1. I heard a comedian - Mark Steel - talking with another about how it was to be a comedian. Firstly they dont WANT to be comedians, its kinda like a neurodivergence thing. They cant listen to a sentence - their brain is scrolling through a Rolodex of things they can riff off, one they find it they stop listening an d they are refining the joke, then they are looking for the opening in the conversation to drop the joke for maximum effect, and they DONT WANT to be doing this. Its just what their brain does. It sounded so sad.

  2. In 2014 I was worth €6 million. It had taken me 26 years to get there having grown up in extreme poverty and the novelty had worn off and I was miserable. It wasn't like the movies, I wasn't magically happy, I was still the same person with essentially the same problems. In Sept 2014 I suffered brain damage in a mugging and 18 months later I was bankrupt and homeless. I got my self back together but I HAVE NEVER tried to regain the wealth, I live a tiny minimalist life as an author and a tailor of historical clothing next to a beach in Bulgaria. But I am happy. I try not to dwell on the 26 years of my life I wasted chasing a dream that was not even my dream - but the one that comes pre-loded with every child in a capitalist society...
