SOMETHING EVEN MORE INTERESTING In WW1 we did not have any real concept of "mental health" and shell shock - which is PTSD - manifested as physical symptoms, like grinning By WW2 we had a good understanding of mental illness and psychotherapy and PTSD manifested in EMOTIONAL and PSYCHOLOGICAL ways and not in physical ways. Showing that we manifest symptoms in the way we believe they should be manifest. As painful as pain is - its not REAL - it in your head not your hurt hand...
