You cant have a gun, claim to be a “responsible gun owner” and not be complicit in the deaths of these children In the same way you cant own a blood diamond and not be complicit in child slavery. You cant own Nike sneakers made in a sweatshop in Indonesia and not be complicit in exploitation. If you are not actively fighting against an injustice as huge as the mass killing of children in America with guns, you are complicit in the killings. If you have a gun and claim to be a “responsible gun owner” you are NORMALISING the existence of guns in people's hands in America and that allows the situation to continue. And because it is SO normalised to you, you don't see this. Guns are like fascism. If you are not actively fighting fascism you are complicit in letting it take over the country. When a problem reaches a certain magnitude - passivity becomes participation in the problem. And YOU are not fighting against fascism cos YOU ARE A RACIST SO YOU LIKE THE FASCISM.
