I AGREE, its a graveyard, it should be left in peace and respected.

@mogon721 NO - its made of carbon fiber which is incredibly strong but is known to suffer catastrophic unexpected failure. SpaceX have had unexpected failures of the COPV's

@mogon721 "Also, a catastrophic implosion would have been registered, on the ships nearby as well as by every seismic station along the North American coast." AHHAHAH dude its the side of a tin can, its not going to register on seismic equipment. " the greatest risk of structural failure is at the maximum depth". YES, but carbon fibre pressure vessels are KNOWN to suffer unexplainable catastrophic failure even when only semi-pressurised - thats the point. Look up the last loss of a payload at SpaceX, from memory they were still filling it on the launch pad and it blew up. Its a KNOWN issue with composite overwrapped pressure vessels, I'm not saying that WAS the failure, I'm just saying this does happen wiht COPV, even to SpaceX who probably have more experience with them than anyone else. Here footage of one https://youtu.be/Jlj2BW8AtUQ "I think there hasn't even been a case of structural failure of such a deep sea sub since the days of Walsh and Picard. " we only recently started using COPV subs, metal is way more predictable in its failure modes. " That sub is full of electronic systems that pose a much greater risk of failure." YEP - by far the most likley.
