As a European I just had an Am3ric4n mocking me telling me how much higher wages are in the US - YEAH, they need to be. My friend just got made redundant at 62, she is fine with that she will retire early. But her health insurance is $15,000 a year. Her son is a single father of an autistic kid, he is on $72k, she has to help out with the expenses, and he is not a spendthrift. In Salt Lake City you cant live on $72k with a special needs child.
