The closer to tears you are about the state of the UK today. This situation is NOT rescuable, there will be 15 years of unimaginable pain and suffering.

THIS IS THE "COLLAPSE OF THE USSR" MOMENT FOR THE UK no amount of Labour is going to fix this - THIS IS COLLAPSE - Technically it is sigmoid collapse and the UK is now in the near vertical "freefall" part of that. You are experiencing cascading systems failure - everything is broken and everything you need to fix it is also broken. This period of collapse usually lasts about 10 years followed by 5 years of stagnation and then recovery starts. You can invest hundreds of billions £ into the infrastructure, education, science but its going to take 15 years just to START having an effect. The UK will also have to rejoin the EU before recovery can happen. I write books on this stuff and this is a severe "fourth turning" collapse. They happen every 80 to 100 years and this is an exceptionally bad one. The UK is going to have to invest £500 billion if not £1 trillion and totally reinvent its political and governing structures. The Britain that emerges from this depression will NOT be even recognisable. Whilst this is going on there will be the AI Revolution and the Green Energy revolution - 35% of jobs will vanish, white-collar jobs to "important ones|, the UK will have to introduce some form of UBI in this period. There will never BE a "normal" again in the UK, you have engineered the worst collapse at the most complicated and high states paradigm shift in 250 years. The best plan is for the UK to lead the world in this - but I doubt it will.

@itsnowjoke1381 - Im not sure that is entirely true - I think the Japanese have engineered quite a successful steady-state economy. And we will ALL have to move to steady-state economies, you cant grow for ever, and the planet is over economic capacity already. People talk about China's growth being over its collapsing bla bla bla - but in 2021 Xi announced that China was moving away from supplying the world and to supplying its own people AND it would be transitioning to a "sustainable economy" i.e steady state.

An unusually penetrating insight there my friend. YES, this didn't start 13 years ago, this started in 1979. All the sticking plasters and the coverups - its all falling apart now. HARRY COLE OF THE SUN SIAD this is the beginning of a MASSIVE crisis - cos the Tory govt sold off all the well made victorian courts and police stations to their mates to turn into luxury apartments and hotels, and kept allthe sh!tty 1970's and 80's stuff - so the UK public building stock is now 100% cheap sh!t about to fall down. There is vast wealth in the UK - its with the top 10% and the over 70's in their houses. The oldest 10% of the country have something like 60% of the wealth

My father was an engineer at a power station and they were going to buy that £2,500 house and then he got injured at work, we moved into a little rented house next to my grandparents so they could help look after the kids and one thing led to another my father's injury stopped him ever getting back to work - 15 years of a legal battle to get compensation - I went to school in black trash bags too poor to afford coats. We never moded out of that rented house and my inheritance will be £0.00p. YES people had hard times. That house, the Mount it was called sold last year for £1.2 million. But for ONE accident my family would have been GIFTED BY FORTUNE £1,997,500 pure profit. YOU as a boomer generation had it the easiest of ANY generation in history - that is an objective fact. BOOMERS DID NOT WORK HARD FOR THEIR WEALTH - THEY WORKED HARD FOR THEIR LIVING - this is not the same thing. "Sometimes you have to walk in a mans shoes to understand his mind and experience." I guarantee you that 95% of Gen Z today would LOVE to walk in your shoes - would yu walk in theirs? Earning £25k and a house costing £300k??? £2,250 a month on rent. 3 yers salary = a DEPOSIT...???
