I live in Bulgaria now - finding find 4km of twisted pair wire in a shed would be a very normal thing here. You can buy NOS capacitors and chips by the Kg. Lots of people here build tube amplifiers as the old components are so easy to get.

@ChernobylFamily - I believe most of the Soviet computers were made here in Bulgaria, I know there are old computer factories in my city of Burgas. Apparently, the world's 3rd largest manufacturer of computers in the 1980s was Bulgaria...!??!?! What I love about the old Societ kit is the amount of info on the labels and the mouldings - my washing up bowl was made in 1977 and my cheese grater in 1983...
