I live in Bulgaria - I am seriously thinking of starting a secular monastery for people who are sick of the modern world, just want a simple life, grow food, make beer, read books, discuss philosophy or science, build new buildings, breathe clean air, drink fresh water, fish, and sleep soundly...

@kamdav1892 - I can buy 10 hecrates of forest with a small river for like €10k here. Every year that goes by I get closer to doing it as the world gets crappier.

@bitrudder3792 - do you know something. I live in a "commi block" the nightmare looking ex communist-era apartment blocks in Bulgaria. 1st thing is, they are GREAT to live in, look like crap but they are fantastic. 2nd - they all mesh screening in all the walls to form a Faraday cage. NO EMF. The downside is you cant get a wifi signal to pass through a wall, you need a router in each room you want to use wifi in. The electrics are in metal conduit in the walls so they are screened. I've always wondered what did the communists know about EMF that they screened everyone's apartments from it..??? Also - all the power lines that are not buried - and 90% are - they are twisted pairs so the EMF cancels out. They went to a lot of trouble to stop EMF did the communists... There is also a nuclear bomb shelter in the basement - everyone got one of those as well.
